Product Details

This is a resistance-heated crucible furnace, not an induction furnace. Heating elements surround an integral refractory chamber inside a cylindrical shell, and the charge sits in a crucible lowered into it. There is no coil, no medium frequency power supply and no cooling water — which is exactly why laboratories choose it: it plugs in, it holds temperature, and there is almost nothing on it to maintain.

Two ratings are standard: a medium-temperature model to 1,000 °C and a high-temperature model to 1,200 °C. Operation is batch — load, ramp, soak, unload — with the temperature controller holding set-point through the soak.

Typical users are works laboratories, mining and industrial test rooms and research institutes, doing element analysis and assay work, melting small quantities of metal, and heat treating small steel components. Where you need faster heat-up, higher temperature or a controlled atmosphere, the induction laboratory furnace or the vacuum induction melting furnace is the better tool, and we will tell you so.
