Induction Furnaces for Scrap Steel, Copper and Aluminium Recycling

Melting plants for scrap processors converting mixed feed into saleable ingot or billet, with charge handling and fume extraction sized to the operation.

Scrap melting is a throughput business with a difficult charge: variable density, variable chemistry, and often moisture or contamination. The furnace has to tolerate all of it while still hitting the tons-per-hour the commercial model depends on.

We specify recycling plants around charge handling as much as the furnace itself — vibratory feeders, charging buckets and preheating where the feedstock justifies it — because in most scrap operations the melting rate is limited by how fast material gets into the furnace, not by installed kW.

What This Industry Has to Solve

The three problems that decide whether an installation in this industry pays for itself or becomes a maintenance liability.

01

Low-density and wet charge

Wet or oily scrap creates a steam explosion risk on a molten heel. Charging sequence, heel practice and a drying protocol are covered in commissioning training, and charge preheating is available where feedstock quality justifies it.

02

Throughput limited by charging, not power

We size the charging equipment against the melting rate rather than treating it as an accessory, so installed power is actually used instead of waiting on a bucket.

03

Fume and dust compliance

Hooded extraction with a bag filter is specified against the actual feedstock — galvanised, painted or oily scrap all produce different loads — so the plant meets local emission limits from day one.

The configurations we most often specify for scrap metal recycling operations.
